One of the main ways in which Katimavik can have an impact on your community is through full-time volunteerism with local organizations. A partnership with Katimavik is an opportunity for local not-for-profits as well as for public and para-public institutions to increase the quality and quantity of services they offer your community.

Katimavik’s commitment to your organization

To help you reach your objectives, Katimavik is committed to provide you with:
  • Volunteers available to do daytime volunteer work, from Monday to Friday, for a total of 28 to 35 hours per week, depending on the needs of your organization.
  • A work force for a 12-month period (2 cohorts of six months).
  • 11 volunteers assigned to various organizations throughout your community.
  • An opportunity to be involved in the matching of volunteers with assignments.
  • Support and tools for work supervisors.
  • Supervisory staff outside of working hours.

Your commitment to Katimavik

Inherent to any partnership is the concept of reciprocity. Partner organizations must take an active role and interest in the work being done by Katimavik volunteers.

As a partner organization, you commit to:
  • Offering meaningful work and a positive experience to Katimavik volunteers.
  • Planing, supervising and evaluating the volunteers' work.
  • Participating actively in project planning and following up within the community by taking part in the Local Katimavik Committee (LKC).
  • Ensuring transportation for volunteers to and from the work site throughout the partnership.
