Our areas of impact

In order to optimize its impact on communities, Katimavik helps communities and partner organizations in specific sectors. The issues targeted by Katimavik are in large part the same as those of The United Nations Economic and Social Council, which recognized Katimavik as a consultative member in 2008. Specifically, Katimavik works with community partner organizations engaged in:

Volunteer service

Katimavik volunteers become active members of Canadian communities through:

  • Group leading and facilitation of target groups
  • Communications (media, public relations, fundraising, promotion)
  • Help and counselling with those belonging to a target group
  • Office work (reception, computer work, clerical tasks, filing)
  • Manual work (cooking, sorting clothes, renovation, maintenance)
  • Customer service (front desk, sales, food services)
