New Eco-Internship dates for 2012
Strengthened by the support it receives from Quebec’s Secrétariat à la Jeunesse, the Eco-Internship program will continue working in 2012 to get young Quebecers involved in sustainable development projects spearheaded by its partners across the province. The Eco-Internship team is pleased to announce the dates of the next two internship programs:
- Internships for spring and summer 2012: May 7 to July 29
- Internships for fall 2012: September 15 to December 9
Apply before January 24, 2012 and save $75 on 6-month programs
Complete your application today and save $75!
As of January 24, 2012, the $50 application fee will be abolished for 6-month programs, and participation fees will increase from $175 to $300.
All candidates that will have paid their $50 application fee before January 24 will only need to pay $175 once they are selected for the program. All candidates interested in the July 2012 and January 2013 departures should hurry to complete their application before January 24, 2012 and thus save a total of $75.

… Chaz Austin Gervais, from St. Catharines, Ontario! Chaz recently successfully completed the Ecocitizenship and Active Living program in Spryfield, Nova Scotia. His name was drawn from the pool of names of those who referred us a minimum of 5 youths that could benefit from participating in a Katimavik program. Chaz won 2 round-trip tickets to anywhere in Canada. Congratulations, and thank you to everybody who took part in the contest!

Katimavik is proud to announce that Fiija Derro, alumna of 2009-2010, has successfully completed her bike tour of Canada. Fiija arrived in Halifax, NS on August 4 and was greeted at the Katimavik house in Spryfield by the group, alumni and other guests invited for the customary open house.
Fiija, and her fellow bike companion Rory Allen (also a Katimavik alumnus that joined Fiija’s trek in Quebec City on July 8), made their way to the coast the following Sunday where Fijja dipped her bike in the Atlantic Ocean.
