How can Katimavik help my not-for-profit organization

Partnerships are an opportunity for not-for-profit organizations, whether public or parapublic, to improve and increase the delivery of their services.

Katimavik’s commitment to your organization

In order to help you reach your goals, Katimavik is committed to provide you with:

  • Volunteers available during the day from Monday to Friday, for a total of 35 to 40 hours a week, according to your organization’s needs.
  • 12 months of volunteer work (2 cohorts for 6 months each).
  • 11 volunteers working in different community organizations.
  • The chance to get involved in matching volunteers to appropriate work placements.
  • Support and tools for work supervisors.
  • Personnel to supervise volunteers outside of volunteer-service hours.

Katimavik volunteers are full-fledged members of your organization, and will carry out regular activities such as:

  • Managing and leading target groups
  • Communications (media, public relations, fundraising, promotion)
  • Supporting and advising members of target groups
  • Office work (reception, computer work, administration, archiving)
  • Manual labour (cooking, sorting clothing, renovation, maintenance)
  • Customer service (reception, sales, catering)

Your commitment to Katimavik

A partnership with Katimavik is a reciprocal relationship. In other words, the partner organization must be a stakeholder and show an interest in Katimavik’s work.

As a partner organization, you are committing to:

  • Offer a stimulating job and positive experience to Katimavik volunteers.
  • Act as mentor to volunteers and support their professional development.
  • Plan, supervise and evaluate volunteer work.
  • Actively participate in planning and follow-up with the community, as a member of the local Katimavik committee (LKC).
  • Ensure that volunteers have transportation to and from their work placement for the duration of the partnership.

During their posting, volunteers work on a regular basis with Katimavik partner organizations. These are not-for-profit organizations that take on Katimavik’s mission and need volunteers to accomplish their projects.
