An Organization
How can Katimavik help my community
As a Katimavik partner, you will sign an agreement that will allow your community to benefit from over 10,000 working hours. Volunteers will work for not-for-profit organizations, develop a targeted community project and perform various volunteer projects that will have a positive impact on the entire community. In your community, volunteers will work with:
- The underprivileged
- The elderly
- The disabled
- Women in need
- Youth and children
- Immigrants and refugees
- First Nations
- Cultural minorities
In addition to time spent on their work projects, Katimavik volunteers collaborate with local stakeholders to develop a community project. The type of project depends on the specific needs of the community and the project’s feasibility. Here are some examples of collective community projects:
- Collaborating in local initiatives to increase their scope or impact
- Fostering social solidarity through dynamic projects
- Awareness-raising and educational activities on local and national issues
- Developing community gardens or other environmental initiatives
