Located at the mouth of the powerful Restigouche river, in the north of the province, this coastal community is blessed with a magnificent landscape. Salmon fishing and sea kayaking are just a couple of the activities the region has to offer. On a hike up the Dalhousie mountain, you can see inscriptions engraved onto the rocks more than two centuries ago. This small, bilingual community with a population of 5,000 is proud of its Micmac, Celtic and Acadian heritage and you may hear the legend of the Chaleur Bay ghost, one of the most well-known legends in the Maritimes.
