Marion Bridge, Nova ScotiaThe community partner organizations:
Two Rivers Development Association (Two Rivers Wildlife Park)
Marion Bridge (pop.: about 400), made famous through a popular song, is located at the half-way point along the Mira River, one of Nova Scotia's longest rivers that empties into Mira Bay. Marion Bridge is a short 10-minute drive from where you can continue on to the 18th century Louisbourg fortress, North America’s largest reconstruction site. A quiet, unassuming community, it celebrates the Mira Gala every year. This two-week, country-flavoured festival welcomes former residents and tourists alike to enjoy concerts, dances and pageants. Other events during Mira Gala include canoe races, bathtub races, dinner theatres, Cape Breton music, strawberry socials, antique and custom car shows, flea markets, roast beef dinners, hay rides, sports events, children's fun days and a Parade of Sail. In Marion Bridge, you’ll find the simple pleasures of rural life.
