Kelowna, the largest city in the south-central part of the province, is located on the banks of Okanagan Lake, in the center of the valley of the same name. It’s a great area for wine lovers, as Kelowna is surrounded by a dozen vineyards, and there are wine festivals in spring, summer and gall. The region’s landscape is varied, featuring canyons, valleys, sandy beaches, orchid gardens and truck farms. Kelowna’s 103,000 residents are mainly English-speaking.
