Williams Lake is located in the centre of the province and is considered British Columbia’s rodeo capital. Surrounded by mountains and a lake, the area offers a beautiful landscape for nature lovers. There are many outdoor activities to enjoy, such as hiking, rock climbing, fishing, snowmobiling, skiing and ice skating. The municipality also includes more than ten public parks. Each year, at the beginning of July, the town hosts the Williams Lake Stampede, a five-day rodeo event. Today, the community has a population of more than 11, 000 residents, most of whom are English-speaking.
