This small English-speaking community of more than 8,000 habitants was settled in the 1860s during the Gold Rush. Quesnel is located on the banks of the Fraser River, in the heart of the Caribou region, between Prince George and Williams Lake, and was a deposit site for gold mine workers. Since them, forestry and livestock are the strongholds of the region’s economy. The town features many parks, such as the Riverfront Trail, a magnificent nature trail. There is also an Art and Recreation Center and two arenas.
