Port Alberti is located on Vancouver Island, near Barkley Sound. There is a great variety of outdoor activities, including golf, mountain biking and hiking. The Alberny Valley Museum, which showcases the region’s cultural heritage, and the McLean Mill National Historic Site, which tells the unique story of Canada’s sawmills that run on steam, are just two of this city’s cultural attractions. The mainly English-speaking community now numbers more than 20,000 residents.
