Woodstock is located west of Fredericton, and within the heart of the valley of  Saint John River. First inhabited by the Maliseet nation, Woodstock further developed in the 19th century, proof of which are the buildings of Victorian architecture. The Meduxnekeag River joins the Saint John in downtown Woodstock, offering visitors and residents alike easy access to the ecologically rich Meduxnekeag Valley. A little more than 5,200 people reside in the mostly English-speaking community.
